9/12/09 Hunting Island, SC

The best park I have seen to date. It is exactly what you would want in a state park. . . lots of trees, narrow little streets, plenty of room between camp spaces and, lastly, the ocean with warm water day or night, constant ocean breezes and moderate temperature all the time. And. . . it has electric and water!! Fabulous!! Didn't really want to leave.

Our camping space, only steps from the sand.

Birds in search of something, probably food.

Sunrise over the Atlantic.

The island is slowly disappearing, leaving dead trees in its wake.

Hunting Island lighthouse in the background.

Barry taking an early morning dip in the warm Atlantic.
