Sadly, we left our friends in South Dakota this morning, after extending our visit several times for several days because we were having such a great time. We hope to see them in our city some time in the near future. Yesterday, after cruising the Potato Festival in Watertown, we went thru some second hand stores and found a knitting machine just like mine. Janell bought it for $25 (major bargain!!!) and I had the fun of helping her get it set up and watched her run off a couple of rows of knitting. We were both excited.
We are now in the hometown of Winnebago RVs, Forest City, IA. We drove thru part of Minnesota into Iowa and hardly noticed any difference in the landscape from South Dakota. I had no idea that so much corn was grown in the U.S. We are hoping to have some service done on the RV, since this is where it was built. We will have the opportunity to tour the Winnebago plant, which could be fun. They have lots of overnight parking here, including electric, water and dump. . . for free.
